Rotherham town centre closed circuit time trial – Sunday 9 October 2016

Rotherham Borough Council in partnership with Rotherham Wheelers is running a cycle time trial around a closed circuit in Rotherham Town Centre on Sunday 9 October 2016.

The event is now open for online entry and will be advertised in the local press from Friday (9 September) onwards. Additional publicity will be by means of ‘flyers’ in shops and other places around the town.

RBC are committing considerable resources to making the event a success and it is also being sponsored by JE James Ltd.

The benefits to Rotherham Wheelers are that our involvement will raise the profile of our club, provide experience of organising cycle events which will be especially valuable as we approach our club centenary in four years time and also we will receive a percentage of the profits from the event.

Several of our members have already given a significant amount of time to planning this event, but in order to make it a success we now need our members to volunteer to act as marshals, time keepers etc on the day.

If you are free on Sunday 9 October, could you spare a few hours supporting this worthy event. I anticipate (subject to later confirmation) that volunteers will be required from around 09:00 until 13:30.

If you are able and willing to help out, please let me know as soon as possible by email to rotherhamlad1@hotmail.com or by text or phone call to 07751 518488.
